You're Remote Now

Well, we got a the word, actually about a month ago, that we’re all remote until at least October 1. I have to say, I’m split on whether I prefer remote work to in-office work. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy sleeping in, but there’s a tendency for work to stretch into personal life, and almost never really the other way around.

I think the biggest issue I have is no dedicated office. I always feel like I’m in someone’s way, and while I’m working at my computer, I get to watch the rest of the family doing household chores and the like, which causes me to start feeling a little guilty about it.

That being said, I did spend part of the day in the office the other day, and it did feel weird, for a few reasons. I was the only one in the office, but also it did feel weird for me to not be able to just say “Hi!” to the spouse when I felt like it.

For now, I’m ok with being remote. Gotta be, I guess.
