Time Segregation
Not news for any remote worker, per say, but one thing I’m working on overcoming is keeping my personal time and work time separate. Sadly, I noted this already with my lunches. While in office, I almost always took a 1 hr long lunch. My lunches are typically down to 20-30 minutes now, unless I need to run errands, which even that I don’t do too often.
Also, I start earlier, end a little earlier, but also poke into work throughout the evening when vegging.
I think one thing that makes this far harder is a lot of my “extra curriculars” are pretty similar to work. Board member for two non profits, and also launching a remote worker-owned cooperative. So, that’s what I do during my off hours, from my joe-job when not biking, running, hiking, camping, or being a dad.
And, the burnout is starting to weigh in now. I think I have some good coping strategies, drinking only being one of them, which I’m heavily trying to cut back on.
I’ll keep things updated as I go along though. I’m suspecting I’ll be remotely working until December, at this rate, minimally.
